Why Happy

Our departments

There are four distinct teams at Happy:

Happy Business Support

This team help our business run smoothly. They include our Chief Happiness Officer (our CEO), our Group Managing Director, our Finance Manager, our Marketing Manager, our Café Co-ordinator and our Technical Liaison Officers.

Happy People

These people manage our leadership and personal development training business stream. They include a Business Stream Head, Account Managers and Facilitators and a Learning Organisation Specialist.

Happy Apprenticeships

This team manage our leadership and management, and web development apprenticeships business stream. They include a Business Stream Head, Account Managers and Facilitators.

Happy Computers

This team manage our IT training business stream. They include a Business Stream Head, Account Managers and Trainers.

The 4 day week

With our four-day working week, full-time staff work for 80% of their hours for 100% of their salary, as long as they are 100% as productive (after passing probation). Here’s more detail about how it works and what our people think about it.

Our benefits

We offer a host of benefits to our people (after passing probation), including:

  • 4 day working week for full-time staff — Work 32 hours per week and be paid for 37.5 hours, as long as you are just as productive
  • Profit-related pay to staff and to charity — 20% of our profit is distributed evenly between all staff and 4% of our profit is donated to charities (charities chosen by staff)
  • Monthly excellence bonus — approximately £500 per year
  • Ability to work from home — agreed with your team and dependent on role
  • 22 days of holiday allowance — increased by 1 day per year of service (up to 30 days)
  • Birthday off each year — on top of your annual leave entitlement, for low sickness record
  • Paid sabbaticals — recognising long service with 4 weeks paid sabbaticals after 6 and 12 years, and 8 weeks after 20 years of service
