Next Steps in Project Management – Overcoming Common Challenges

This one-day course will review how to set up projects for success, understand the foundations that will get and keep your project on track. You will explore common pitfalls and how to avoid them. We will make time to address your particular challenges. Finally, we will look at the advocacy, negotiation and communication skills that will support you and your project planning and delivery.

Course Overview

This course is for people with project management experience who are already working to a process (project initiation, stakeholder mapping / engagement, scheduling, managing risk*), or who have attended our one-day Introduction, but now need to take more control of projects.

The problem solving day is the next step after our Introduction to Project Management workshop to give more insight into planning before focusing on managing risks and dealing with the inevitable challenges that can undermine even the best planned projects.

*If you are not yet doing those things then Happy’s Introduction to Project Management may be the course for you.

Why take this course?

  • Move beyond theory and explore how to apply good project management in reality
  • Tackle common challenges such as shifting priorities and unclear goals
  • Strengthen your communication, planning and stakeholder engagement
  • Discover tools and strategies to keep projects on track

Who is this course for?

This course is ideal for people who already have some project management experience — whether through a previous course or in practice — and want to address challenges that arise in real-life projects.
